Call of the Canyon plot
Cattle dealer McCoy has incurred a hefty gambling debt. When Gene and the other ranchers are ready to sell their livestock, McCoy undercuts the owners' planned prices to pocket the difference. The ranchers therefore try to go to another cattle market, but McCoy's men, to frighten them off, cause an explosion, killing a man. Knowing that McCoy always listens to the radio to hear the results of the horse races, Gene schedules a fake radio broadcast in the hopes of catching him cheating.
