A Perilous Journey plot
"Strange cargo of women! Bartered for gold...and a daring swashbuckler!"
The year is 1850. A group of 49 young women travel by boat from Panama to California to present themselves as potential wives to the prospectors there. Among these women is Francie Landreaux, who hopes to find her husband, a gambler, in California. Francie, who falls in love with the playboy Shard Benton, takes a job with Monty Breed, an enemy of Benton. When Francie's wife shows up one day, Breed kills him. Breed then fights Benton over Francie.
