Ten Days to D-Day plot
The ten days before the invasion on June 6, 1944 have been described as the ten most important days of the 20th century. These were the ten days in which the impending invasion was to take place. This was the week and a half when bad weather forced Eisenhower to cancel the first planned attack; when Rommel went home for his wife's birthday; as French resistance fighters prepared for the big day of the invasion; then the ordinary German soldiers wrote home without a care in the world; then the British and American paratroopers taught the commandos their objectives in Normandy; then the double agent 'Garbo' sent his last messages of disappointment to Germany.
