Ore wa, Kimi no Tame ni Koso Shini ni Iku plot
The story was told by the governor of Tokyo and is followed from the perspective of Torihama Tome, who runs a restaurant. This is frequented by young kamikaze pilots just before takeoff and she is like a second mother to many of them. They are mainly late teens and early twenties when they die in the name of "patriotism" at the behest of the state.
