Karan (Hrithik Roshan) is a happy boy with a very laid back attitude about how things are in life. His childhood friend Romi (Preity Zinta), on the other hand, is a modern girl who just says what she thinks. On an impulse, Karan decides to join the army and ends up at the Indian Military Academy. Determined to make something of himself, Karan wants to prove he can, despite what his father (Boman Irani) and friends think. There Karan will be subjected to very severe physical tests by 'Major' Amitabh Bachan.
