Fighting Coast Guard plot
Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, ex-Coastguard Bill Rourk is tempted to attend Coast Guard officer training. He gives up his much safer and better paying job in the port. Commander McFarland becomes his supervisor at the school, but Rourk fails his exam. Then it turns out that Rourk has been assigned to Commander McFarland's division and is expected to participate in the battles in the Pacific.
