Windmills of the Gods plot

After her husband's death, Professor Mary Ashley accepts the American president's offer to become ambassador to Romania. The change will do her good, she thinks. But the Cold War is at its peak, and existence behind the Iron Curtain is not without its perils. Once in Romania, Mary becomes entangled in a web of international intrigue, betrayal and murder. Terrorists attack her and her children. In this nightmare she can only rely on two men, and one of them wants to kill her.
