The Honorary Consul plot

In the Argentine city of Corrientes, doctor Eduardo Plarr falls in love with the beautiful Native American Clara, whom he met in a brothel. When Clara marries the honorary consul of England, Eduardo becomes her lover. The love for Clara and the worries about his imprisoned father drive Eduardo into a fatal political conflict.
