The Dutchman plot
Successful but troubled businessman Clay is in a fragile marriage with Kaya, with whom he goes to therapy. However, their mysterious therapist also shows up in other places where Clay is present. In the subway in New York, Clay meets the seductive but sinister Lula. She gradually turns his life upside down.

A decent psychological thriller. The symbolically rich story is well-crafted and touches on themes of racism, white supremacy, and racial identity. The execution is quite successful. The film flows smoothly without becoming boring and also feels somewhat mysterious. Towards the end, the film loses some of its power because it tends to want to explain everything, while it would have been more effective to leave the viewer with a few questions. The acting is very strong, with excellent chemistry between Holland and Mara. Visually, it's also fine. 3.0/3.5
