During a stormy night, a car breaks down and the five occupants find shelter in a small chalet. There they meet the owner, Wright, and his mother, Herta, who are just about to begin a spiritualist seance. The guests are kindly invited to participate, but their agreement will cost them dearly. The old woman unmasks in each individual the surprising truths from their past that they kept hidden.
