Im Meer der Lügen plot

Single mom Stefanie (Ann-Katrin Kramer) falls in love with pilot Kai (Thomas Sarbacher) and they go on vacation to Mexico. The next day, her world is turned upside down when there are traces of blood everywhere but no trace of her lover. She is accused of murder, thrown into a Mexican cell and left to her own devices. Only after a year does pro bono lawyer Paul (Wolfgang Stumph) appear, whose best advice is to try to escape.
