Successful film producer Larry O'Brien arrives in Hollywood to make an independent film. Larry buys an old studio, which has not been used since the silent film era. The salesman also shows Larry the office space, where then-director Franklin Ferrara was shot dead. That murder case was never solved, although there were many suspects. Larry becomes fascinated by this story and wants to make it the subject of a new film. He goes to investigate and now gets himself in trouble
