Really enjoyed this movie yesterday. Frank Lammers and Elise Schaap have a great chemistry that you rarely see. The film has it all: suspense, intrigue, betrayal, romance and humor, especially during a corny drug-trip scene.

In terms of content, many things are completely predictable. You can sense after three minutes that Bouman will eventually face opposite Brink. Or the opening scene with a drunk dad with a life lesson that of course comes back later. For example, the film lends more to countless 80s crime flicks. But it can't spoil the fun.

You have to wait a long time for the real action and tension, but until then the whole movie is already a great experience. But I think you especially appreciate the build-up as a fan of the series, and then every detail is really enjoyed. It turns out that Ferry eventually started producing XTC thanks to Danielle. Those kind of things.

Oh, and those accents that don't add up, an anachronism here and there. Very important.
I'm from Groningen and to me Amsterdam and Brabant both sound equally stupid

Finally: this film clearly cultivates more sympathy for Ferry Bouman, which laid the foundation for a new Undercover season in which Bob and Ferry are forced to go undercover together. Hero and antihero. Bet?

Great print, especially as a prequel after seeing Undercover. It's not all that deep, but the atmosphere and the characters offer enough to hold on to. The common thread is secretly the blossoming romance and normally I am extremely allergic to it. That didn't bother me that much, is a compliment to the film. It feels sufficiently realistic (until the end then); he dismisses her, leaves, is disappointed, but continues. Lammers is a fine actor in this. The end is that a bit over the top, that he kills everything and everyone around and including the big rich boss because of 'the woman', but I thought afterwards that it was the start for Undercover : forward. Entertaining enough all, with the Brabant and Goddamn what can Elise Schaap look horny I found the 2nd season of Undercover a lot less interesting, but I do feel like a season 3.
