Emergency Call plot
dr. Carter is the head of a hospital surgical department who is desperate to find a rare blood type to save the life of a young child. Carter enlists the help of Police Inspector Lane of 'Scotland Yard'. Lane's quest puts him in touch with three potential blood donors. The first donor Lane has found is sailor and Negro George Robinson, who is about to set sail for the Far East. Robinson still doubts whether he will give blood for a white child, given his bad experiences from the war. Lane's second possible blood donor is boxer Tim, who is currently having problems with his manager. The third possible donor is Jackson, a murderer on the run for 12 years, who is seriously injured during his arrest. Jackon is immediately faced with a dilemma: donate blood now, or later be repaired in a hospital and then still receive the death penalty….
