"Two little girls... one evil secret."

An English couple, Tess and Alfred Palmer, cannot have children of their own. When they get the chance to adopt two sisters from Canada through a shadowy agency, they don't hesitate for a moment. Back in England, the eldest sister appears to suffer from terrible nightmares and tantrums. Tess thinks it'll pass, but when the kid tries to kill a classmate with scissors, Tess investigates. She discovers that the girls' real mother has been murdered. But by whom? What dark secret is this girl hiding?
