An interesting film perhaps, but it also seems to me that the narrative portrays the main character somewhat more innocently than the Guardian article would rightly suggest - quite a lot is overlooked or left out of the story. Well, 'based on' is not the same as the story, the whole story and nothing but the story. Still, it does feel somewhat incomplete and also somewhat biased, while precisely because of that a lot of question marks remain - at the very least there is a hint of revisionism about the film.

Poots plays great, but I had blindly assumed that. If there is any criticism possible, it is that there is too little room for the supporting roles.

And I'll leave it at that, the article in The Guardian is so extensive that there is little more to add.
