Arrêtez-Moi plot

One night, a woman enters the police station and asks to be arrested for the murder of her husband. Lieutenant Pontoise is grumpy. Her weekend starts in three hours. There is no rush, the woman says that she committed the murder years ago. The more the officer questions her, the less she wants to arrest the woman. Why does that culprit absolutely want to be arrested and why does the agent not want it at all? It is nine o'clock in the evening when the interrogation begins. At midnight sharp, the ten years will be over and then it will be the statute of limitations.
