Memoirs of a Survivor plot

"From the bestselling novel by Doris Lessing"

In the future, the world has deteriorated considerably. Trash accumulates in the streets, the almost completely illiterate youth lives like rats in the subway shafts, while the adults roam like nomads in search of some food. The film focuses on the story of D., a middle-aged woman who does not travel around, but has locked herself in an apartment. She regains contact with the outside world when she takes care of the orphaned girl Emily. At the same time, she discovers a Victorian family that seems to live in another dimension in a membrane in her wall.
