"Man's best friend has evolved"
Miles is a teenage boy who one day encounters a military robot dog. However, the dog, who goes by the name AXL, has the heart of a normal dog. A close bond quickly develops between the two. The scientists who built AXL are not very happy with it and are doing everything they can to get it back. Miles enlists the help of his clever girlfriend Sara to protect his new friend.

This movie makes no sense. Nice that Becky G is in it, but the rest? Lots of people walking out of the room after 30 minutes. I fell asleep halfway through, so you already know enough.
A robot dog... nice! So what? You don't have to make it into a 100-minute film right away.
Avoiding this junk is the motto...

Entertaining film for (not too) young and old. The story is not special and not always logical. The effect is reasonable formula work and the well-known paths are followed, but otherwise excellent entertainment. There is some tension, enough action and a touch of romance. The film could have contained a bit more humor. Visually the film looks good and the dog in particular is very nicely made. The acting is otherwise okay. Great snack. 3.0/3.5

A mediocre film with many plot holes. The story is about a robot dog that has artificial intelligence. However, the thing just runs on gasoline. In addition, he is fully armored to stop bullets, but halfway through he catches fire completely with a lighter and gasoline. In that area, Daly could have put a little more energy into the story.
