Somewhere in Shanghai a woman is suffering from a disease; she won't live long and the clock is ticking. She wishes time could stop so she could still enjoy her life with her father and sister. Elsewhere in Shanghai, a businessman has arrived from Japan. He is depressed and hopeless and he feels dead inside. He wishes time would go fast again so that he can find out what his life really is. The two meet.
