Wake plot

"Meet Carys. She's a mourning person..."

When things get a little rough for Carys Reitman, she does what any emotional, modern girl would do - she goes to strangers' funerals. During one such funeral, she unexpectedly meets Tyler, a man who is mourning his betrothed. Despite the warnings of her best friend, undertaker Shane, and her roommate Lila, she feels connected for the first time. In search of answers, Carys goes to her estranged mother to confront her about the past. And as she makes herself vulnerable in her love for Tyler, she realizes she has more to fear than just a broken heart.
