The workaholic Lois Ames is the editor of '400 Magazine'. She is married to playboy Fred Ames, who neglects her and is busy with the sport of polo. However, when the attractive salesman Thomas Sherman comes to Lois's office for a demonstration, he leaves as her personal secretary. After a short time, Tom is an executor and works closely with Lois. Tom falls in love with Lois, but his fiancée, Ruth Holman, isn't happy about it.
