The Women in the Lakes plot

A 100-year-old resident of a nursing home on Lake Biwa dies mysteriously. Did the ventilator that kept him alive suddenly break down or was he murdered? A young detective meets a female caregiver. The investigation ends in a dead end, but the two develop a passionate but forbidden relationship. Frightening memories emerge from the vast, deep lake and ensnare the detectives on the case, the caregivers and a reporter trying to uncover a hidden past.
