"In the deepest woods of the most remote hills... a dark mystery BEYOND BELIEF!"
1929. After a flood in the Vermont hills, residents see the remains of strange creatures in the river. Professor Wilmarth, an expert on folklore, does not believe that any of the stories circulating in this area are true. Until he comes into contact with Henry Akely and his son George, who regularly find traces of strange creatures on their farm in Vermont. When the elder Akely asks him to come to Vermont, the naive academic Wilmarth accepts the invitation. He shouldn't have done that.
