"Who has the answer? When it can be anyone?"
Martin Dye, a retired private investigator turned novelist, is in town for a prestigious book prize. Dye is approached by George, a wheelchair-bound fan. George tells him about a car accident twenty years ago in which one passenger died and the other, his friend and local drug dealer Eddie Grant, was seriously injured. Eddie recently died. The money in the car has disappeared. Who took it? Where did it go? Dye unravels a web of deceit involving various factions.
