"This mystery has everybody talking. Even the pets!"

In a provincial town in Virginia, Mary Mina "Harry" Haristeen calls the shots. She runs the local post office and is therefore aware of everything that goes on. However, the real smart ones are her cat, Mrs. Murphy, and the dog Tucker. When a corpse is found in the local lake, the trail soon leads to Dr. Blair Bainbridge. He is a newcomer to the town and has moved into the house after Harry. As the police search for the killer with no results, Mrs. Murphy and Tucker conduct their own investigation.
