High Terrace plot
"Mystery Clutches Like a Nightmare - while a killer roams at large!"
The beautiful English actress Stephanie Blake stars in a successful play. However, Stephanie does not know that the playwright John Mansfield is in love with her. Because John is jealous of those who can take Stephanie away from his play, he refuses to cancel Stephanie's contract to star in a play by American Bill Lang. Trouble ensues when John is found dead with Stephanie's scissors in his body. Fearing Stephanie will be accused of the murder, Bill Lang helps her get rid of John's body. When the police find out, everyone becomes suspicious until Inspector MacKay finds out that Stephanie is the culprit after all. Bill, who is also in love with Stephanie, wants to take the blame.
