Agathe plot
Mathieu is twelve years old and lives with his mother Agathe, a doctor. His father died when he was less than two years old. Since his father is gone, every year on the anniversary of his father's death he has been very silent and withdrawn. His mother doesn't know any better and leaves him alone. This year, however, it is different. After a history lesson, Mathieu and his classmates are tasked with creating a family tree of their family. Through this assignment Mathieu finds out that there is a trend in the death dates of the men in his family. They all die prematurely and Mathieu is convinced that the same fate has been sealed for him, it will soon be his time. He even knows how to calculate this accurately to this day. Agathe is concerned about her son and sends him to a psychologist. One day Mathieu is walking on the sidewalk and is suddenly hit by a car.
