The promising young scientist Ivan arrives at a remote and half-abandoned institution where he becomes head of department seven. With a group of volunteers permanently staying at the institute and a number of assistants, he investigates a mysterious power that humans produce after a short period of radiation. Measurements of this aura seem constant and unique per person, but calculations indicate that the maximum measured force should be 977 and so Ivan tries to figure out what state people need to hit to achieve that measurement.
