What a Crazy World plot

Alf Hitchens is an unemployed boy from the East End (London). He has a fickle relationship with his girlfriend Marilyn. He dreams of a major breakthrough in the music industry. His life revolves around dance halls, nightlife, cafes and any place where he can escape his childhood home. After all, his father, mother and sister each have their own activities. Alf's cynical but cheerful acceptance of life is reflected in the song he casually composes one evening and the result surprises everyone.
