Wabash Avenue plot
Andy Clark (Victor Mature) learns that he has been cheated on by his former business partner Mike Stanley (Phil Harris). Now, in 1892, Mike runs a thriving dance hall in Chicago. Andy is left empty-handed and can't do anything against Mike. At his wits' end, Andy begins to make life miserable for his old friend and also tries to get Mike's girlfriend, the well-spoken Ruby Summers (Betty Grable), on his side.
