The Joy of Disco plot

The word disco is derived from disco, a type of nightclub that emerged in the 1960s and is focused on dancing. Elements of disco music were first heard in the early 1970s, such as Isaac Hayes' soundtrack to the 1971 film Shaft. The disco era reached its peak with the release of the disco film Saturday Night Fever in 1977. This documentary highlights the music genre, which was important for the gay movement, among other things, and led to today's club culture.
