My Best Gal plot
Former entertainer Danny O'Hara is disappointed that his spirited granddaughter Kitty has no intention of following the family tradition and pursuing a career as an entertainer. Kitty insists that show business is too insecure. Danny and Kitty work at the Greenway Drugstore in New York. That is also the meeting place of the expectant playwright Johnny McCloud and his enthusiastic group of entertainers friends. Johnny has written a music revue for his friends and Kitty, who has a crush on Johnny, teams up with him to bring the script to the attention of eccentric Broadway producer Ralph Hodges. Hodges doesn't seem interested in Johnny's work, but his sympathetic secretary Miss Simpson promises him that Hodges will somehow see the script.
