Golden Girl plot
1863. The American Civil War is in full swing. Fiery teenager Lotta Crabtree is overjoyed when famed recording artist Lola Montez visits her hometown of Rabbit Creek. She also dreams of becoming a singer, but her parents, who run a boarding house, disagree. When a boarder wins a game of roulette from Lotta's father, the latter loses all his money and the pension. Lotta decides to perform as a singer to earn money. This is the beginning of a successful career that leads her and her family across America.
