"Laugh Stars! Song Stars! Swing Stars!"
Marvin Howe is a farmer from Vermont and he's headed to New York to join the National Dairy Association. Coincidentally, he takes his trombone with him, and with the help of bandleader Skinnay Ennis, Howe lands a job in a nightclub. Within a short time, Howe becomes a popular radio star. His girlfriend in Vermont is not happy with the way things are going and also travels to New York.
