Downtown Express plot

The film is set in the world of Russian immigrants living in New York. Protected by his loving but bossy father, virtuoso violinist and Julliard student Sasha prepares for an important concert intended to launch his career. However, he is increasingly drawn to the musical rhythm of the New York streets and when he meets the singer and lyricist Ramona, he joins her band. He falls in love with her and begins to lead a double life, torn between two worlds. With his classic debut approaching, Sasha must decide whether to break with his father and force his own destiny.
