Nice!

Flanders's first slasher. Whether it's the first Flemish horror I'll leave in the middle, but we haven't really seen this kind of genre film here yet. Govaerts is treading difficult terrain, but succeeds with verve.

The familiar elements are all there, which is why it is also a genre film. But small things make this film stand out from the rest. The cool mask, the focus on kids and the traps are quite original, given the setting and tone of the film.

Not really gross, not really exciting either. Very attractive. Visually definitely worth the effort (Karakatsanis is a hero) and the main actors (De Voogdt and Luyten) fulfill their roles with verve. A slasher like a good slasher should be. Not bad for Govaerts' first film.

4.0* and a extensive review

Saw it again yesterday and I'll stick with it: this is, together with Yummy and Prey, the best Dutch-language horror film of all time.
