A woman is kidnapped by a vampire cult who believe she is a descendant of their founder. Because the founder must have a successor, the woman is forced to assume that role, and she must do everything she can to stay out of the hands of the cult.

Wonderful alternative vampire film about an innocent, pure and guileless girl who is kidnapped by a bloodthirsty cult and taken to a remote village. There she discovers her unholy fate! According to the prophecies of the Hyma Brotherhood (after the Greek symbol for human blood), she must fulfill her destiny by marrying the leader and helping him quench their eternal thirst for blood! They believe that the girl is the reincarnation of the Blood Countess Elizabeth Bathory, the founder of the cult!
Beautifully designed Australian! masterpiece. Does that make this 'Ozploitation'? Yes, the story is a bit unlikely, but anyone who can see through it will see a beautiful, quietly constructed fairy tale about innocence versus perversion, seduction, madness or not!, and sick manipulation! Is the girl stronger than her captors? Can she resist the temptation of Thirst? Can she cling desperately to her innocence?
Chantal Contouri plays the girl Kate Davis with innocent verve. David Hemmings has a compelling role as Dr. Gauss. Also look out for a role by cult hero Henri Silva!
I thought this was a very surprising film! Not a standard Anne Rice gothic homoerotic vampire work, but a well-played, slowly developing psychological psychological drama about a scared girl who has ended up in a world that is not hers, that she does not understand, and from which she does not know how to escape. and whether she even wants to escape! Class!

Group of aristocrats drink human blood to live long and stay youthful. Including special farms to distribute deliciously packaged human blood. In the context of you must also honor your origins, they decide that the last descendant of Count Dracula should provide even more aristocratic breeding by coupling with the last descendant of Countess Bathory. Unfortunately, that girl doesn't know anything and doesn't really seem to want to drink human blood.
Great horror movie from down under. Just a bit too slow to be a classic, but the story is a nice variation on the vampire genre.
