The Preening Swan plot

Barbara visits Howard, with whom she is secretly in love. It turns out Howard's wife is missing. A serial killer has been hitting Halloween for several years in a row, and Howard believes his wife is one of the victims. It doesn't stop Howard from going to a party, leaving Barbara alone with a serial killer on the loose.
