The Fall of the House of Usher plot
A traveler arrives at Usher's house to visit his old friend Roderick Usher. Upon his arrival, he discovers that Roderick and his sister Madeline have been afflicted with a mysterious ailment: Roderick's senses are painfully hypersensitive while Madeline suffers from catatonia. In the evening, Roderick tells his guest about an old family curse: every time there was more than one child in the family, all the siblings went mad and died a horrible death. As the days go by, the effects of the curse reach their terrifying climax.
