The Abode plot

Around 1800, a Native American named Talako is caught with the wife of a ruthless pirate known as Redbeard. The pirate then orders Talako to be burned alive at the stake. When she witnesses Talako's execution, Redbeard's wife Lara hangs herself. Talako's ghost never ascends and haunts anyone who comes near the old house. Nearly 300 years later, Lara and Talako meet and learn that everything happens for a reason.
