Slugs, Muerte Viscosa plot

"They ooze. They slime. They kill."

A few horrific deaths take place in a small town, with the bodies of the victims largely eaten. Mike Brady, a resident of the town, thinks he has found the cause; the town is terrorized by murderous and hungry slugs, who manage to get to people's homes through the sewers. Mike immediately tries to warn everyone, but hardly anyone seems to want to believe him.

In the revision!

The town is overrun by mutated carnivorous snails (which also produce a kind of canary-like sound).

Fantastic gore scenes alternated with some desperate health inspector knocking on the door of the authorities.

Reminiscent of the even better film Squirm (with piers) but still an above-average horror from the VHS era.

Entertaining nonsense, especially because of the ridiculous premise involving flesh-eating slugs and the enormous amount of gore those slow little bastards create. For people who are not into these slimy creatures, there is already plenty to be horrified, because shots are regularly shown of countless slugs with nice thick slime sounds underneath. But when the biting strips of slime come into action, things get even more disgusting. Everyone is affected, from bigwigs to sex-loving teenagers. Even if there was a slug in your salad, it will come out during a business lunch. That unsavory sequence is one of the highlights, along with the scene involving the couple making love. In terms of script, Slugs follows entirely the Jaws pattern; our hero tries to convince the authorities of a small town about the problem, but they don't want to believe it (which I imagine in this situation), so he calls in two experts and goes on a snail hunt. Slugs: The Movie is a sympathetic nonsensical pulp of just 80 minutes. The bad dubbing actually secretly makes it even more fun.

3 stars.

Very entertaining and over the top. Exuberant fountains of blood from body parts after a bite from such a snail. There is a glimpse of a snail in the film where you briefly see the razor-sharp teeth of such a mollusk. It's a disgusting idea that your entire living room, kitchen or bedroom is crawling with snails... If you slip in them and end up among them...
