Revenge in the House of Usher plot
Melancholy Roderick Usher lives with his sister Madeleine and their butler as the only heirs of the Usher family in a large dilapidated mansion. Roderick is hypersensitive to any physical contact, so much so that every footstep he takes makes his ears ring. His secluded life is suddenly disrupted when young Philip Winthrop comes to visit and asks for Madeleine's hand. Roderick explains to him that his sister is seriously ill and is not allowed to leave the house. Philip decides to stay with them for a while and care for the ailing Madeleine, unaware that the Usher race is cursed...
