Enjoyed it more than expected.

However, I'm not really into jumpscares, and this movie is really jumpscare heavy.

The first hour flies by with really intense jumpscares, but after that first hour...

It just collapsed like a pudding as if the budget suddenly ran out; the ending was really simple too.

*3.0 because I enjoyed it so much.

Director André Øvredal can be accused of a lack of ambition with Passenger, but certainly not a lack of quality. Even with such a simple premise, a number of unsettling and suspensefully built scenes are regularly conjured up on the big screen. Moreover, Jacob Scipio and Lou Llobell form a likeable couple between whom the focus, for a change, does not explicitly lie on not believing the other. Passenger does, however, stumble over the antagonist. This character has a rather ridiculous appearance, and all of this results in a questionable finale that provides unintended hilarity. In any case, Øvredal shows that he has not forgotten the art of conducting, but hopefully he will come up with something grand and impressive next time.

Just watched this on Prime, and didn't think it was as bad as most reviews on The Guardian, RT, IMDb, etc.

It was quite exciting, and I had no complaints about the acting either.

Of course, take all of this with a grain of salt. What do you do if you experience strange things on a lonely road with your camper a few days ago? The most logical thing to do is, of course, to park all alone in a remote forest; I would do the same....
