When the young and successful pianist Penny Vanderwood met the noble inventor Frederic Comte de Saint-Germain, she had no idea that this was the beginning of a series of strange and bad events. While looking at the Count's chess robot, her breath suddenly catches: he plays not only with the same skill, but also with the same chess habits as her deceased fiancée Robert Tournon. Together with her friend Lewis, she wants to get to the bottom of this: Robert has to be dug up.
