After escaping from an asylum for the mentally ill, young medical student Hirosuke assumes the identity of a dead man in order to solve the secret of a bizarre doppelganger - whose image he has seen in the newspaper. He travels to the remote island of Panorama, where he discovers that an insane doctor turns normal people into disfigured monsters through surgery. But that is only a tip of the veil, which hides an even more horrific and insane secret.
