The Wall has fallen and people are pouring into the former West Germany from the east. However, 4% of people do not survive the crossing. When Clara, a hard-working middle-class woman from Leipzig arrives at the border, it becomes clear why: former East German border officials simply cannot bear the fact that the Wall has fallen and they are doing everything they can to stop the flow of people.
