The third chapter in this relatively obscure series sets a downward trend in motion. Curse III doesn't look like a film with a raised budget either, but rather like a whole where the makers had to make the best of limited resources. Most of the money likely went into the African background and securing Christopher Lee, because apart from a few nice shots, this really amounts to nothing and constantly gives a micro-budget impression. Worthless dialogue and boring main characters that fail to touch the viewer's heart for a single moment, and a suspensefully staged finale that is filmed almost amateurishly poorly. Director Sean Barton seems to be aiming for a subtle film, but his direction turns it primarily into a clumsy production with significantly few highlights and one that comes across as considerably less interesting than its predecessors.
