Soldier Ted Watkins returns from his last military service in Vietnam and decides to withdraw from society to live in a remote house on the edge of the Louisiana swamps. Thinking Watkins is hiding valuables in a cabin, three bandits kill him in cold blood. But before they can escape, Damballa, the witch who lives nearby, performs a voodoo ritual that brings the victim back to life to take revenge on his killers.
