Christopher Roth plot
"It's hard to resist that little thrill you feel right before you go beyond the imaginary and "flirt" with reality."
When academic Christopher Roth debuted a serial killer thriller, he had no idea how much that genre would define his life. Eleven books later, he is the most celebrated American thriller author. But Roth feels more and more a prisoner of the suffocating universe of pain and fear that he himself created. A bitingly negative review makes the bucket overflow. Roth announces that he has had enough of serial killers and that he is going to write a love novel. Paul Andersen, his publisher, obviously sees no point in this and offers him and his wife Catherine a holiday in Italy to cool off. However, he is not the only one. The Wild Boar, Italy's most notorious serial killer and Roth's biggest fan, will do everything in his power to put his idol back on the right track.
